School cleaning goes green - 30/06/2009
A new law has been passed in Connecticut, USA, that will see commercial cleaners reaching for more eco-friendly products in future.
According to the Wilton Bulletin, governor Jodi Rell has passed a new law that will require all cleaning agencies working in schools to clean the premises with environmentally-friendly products.
"Schools are places of great promise for our children, where dedicated teachers and staff help shape and guide their futures," Ms Rell announced.
The newspaper added that Ms Rell said: "We can now colour that future green, as well."
Commercial cleaners in the region may decide the bill provides them with a good opportunity to completely overhaul their cleaning products so that they only use green items from now on, as more public buildings could follow the schools and only allow eco-friendly products in future.
Earlier this week it was announced that new hard-surface cleaning products had been launched by environmentally-friendly firm, Ecover, Talking Retail reported.
The introduction of the Power Cleaner and Window And Glass Cleaner could help domestic cleaners tackle difficult to remove stains on a number of hard surfaces.
